After much success with our Fluid Filled Pressure Compensating Underwater Camera (FPUC) we have decided to develop a wide angle version. Most of the electronics and the design remain the same.
We have modified our internal camera housing (which protects the sensor from mineral oil) to accommodate the larger lens. As similar with the prior version, the camera board is enclosed in an epoxy potting.
The outer housing acrylic viewing window has been enlarged to support the larger field of view. Internally, a custom 3D printed board holds all the electronics together and fits snuggly inside the housing.
The results are fantastic and we do wonder why we didn't do this sooner.
